This is an English translation of the Japanese Privacy Policy (日本語版). If there is any difference between the two, the Japanese version prevails.
The developer (the "Developer") of "PDF Text Edit-Kun" (the "App") respects the privacy of its users and handles user information appropriately. This policy explains what information the App handles and for what purposes.
- The contents of your PDFs are processed entirely on your device. They are never sent to or stored on the Developer's servers.
- No account registration is required. The Developer does not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, or similar information.
- The free version (Lite) shows ads from Google AdMob. To deliver ads, the ad SDK sends some information to Google (see Section 3).
1. Information handled on your device
The App handles the following information only on your device. It is not sent to the Developer.
- PDF files you edit: A PDF you open is copied to the App's temporary area on your device and processed there. If you enter a PDF's password, it is used only to open that PDF and is neither stored nor sent.
- Font files you import: Fonts you import are stored in the App's storage area on your device.
- Daily edit record (free version): To manage the free version's limit of "one PDF per day," the App stores an identifier used to tell edited PDFs apart (a value calculated from the file's contents, not the contents themselves) and the date in your device's Keychain. This information may remain on your device even after you delete the App.
2. Information the Developer does not collect
The Developer does not collect, record, or transmit the following: your name, email address, phone number, address, location, contacts, photos, the contents of your PDFs, or text you enter.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
In the free version (Lite), the App uses "Google AdMob," an ad service provided by Google LLC, to show an ad banner at the bottom of the screen. The Pro version shows no ads.
To deliver ads, prevent abuse, and measure ad performance, the ad SDK may automatically send the following kinds of information about your device and ad usage to Google.
- Device information such as your IP address, device type, OS version, and language
- Ad interaction information such as impressions and taps, and some information about how the App is used
- Advertising identifier (only if ad tracking is allowed in your device settings)
At present, the App does not show the "App Tracking Transparency" permission dialog. If you have not allowed ad tracking in your device settings, the advertising identifier is not used.
Google handles this information according to Google's policies. For details, please see the following pages.
4. In-app purchases
Purchases and payments for Pro (the monthly subscription and the lifetime license) are handled by Apple. The Developer does not obtain payment information such as credit card numbers. Your purchase status is checked on your device using Apple's system (StoreKit).
5. Sharing information with third parties
The Developer does not provide your information to third parties except where required by law. However, as described in Section 3, the information needed to deliver ads is sent to the provider of the ad SDK (Google).
6. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13.
7. Changes to this policy
This policy may be changed when necessary. If it is changed, the new version will be posted on this page and announced.
8. Contact
